Purchase the “Bronze Level Combo” to outfit your Suzuki “Wee” DL 650 standard and XT with the basic adventure bike necessities.
Crash Bars
- Hand MIG welded – It’s all about the strength! We continue to follow our philosophy: toughness and functionality over appearance.
- Quality 27mm/1.06″ steel tube with 2mm wall thickness – any low quality steel tubing BELOW THESE SPECS will be crushed when your 450lbs bikes crashes into the ground. Our crash bars will take the beat!
- Less is often more. We didn’t try to cover the whole entire bike with crash bars that look like a cobweb. The Vstrom 650 models have very few tough mounting points, thus it makes more sense to create one solid and compact crash bar that stays close to the few mounting points instead of being far spread out that results in an overly flexible and “soft” structure. It will do more damage to your Vstrom or Wee! Our compact and tough crash bars are the only way to go here to truly protect your Suzuki’s expensive and fragile parts.
- Tough mounting points – No cutting corners here (either)! Precision laser cut pieces for perfect fitment using 4mm thick metal mounts. These parts absorb a lot of impacts from crashes, rather than your bikes chassis that”s worth thousands of dollars.
- Sandblasted to achieve the best possible adhesion of the coatings – it”s an extremely vital part of our manufacturing process. Sandblasted surfaces will withstand most surface scratches and give you a longer-lasting product.
- Powder coated – combined with sandblasting it’s a killer combination to protect your product’s surface. No frills and tough just like your ADV/Dual Sport bike!
Compatibility:
Crash bars: 2004-2022 (tried and tested)
Skid Plate
- Protects crucial areas of the engine – oil pan, engine case, oil cooler, oil filter and exhaust header! That’s a long list of very expensive parts to expose to any sort of damage that will reduce your bikes value in no time.
- Uniquely designed vent system – Not only unique but very-well thought out. No unnecessary holes were designed on this bash plate. As a result, your engine will less likely to overheat when mud and all sorts of debris from offroading fly at the engine and get stuck between the skid plate and the engine/exhaust header.
- True offroad and adventure shape – What does that even mean?? It means we have experience in building top-notch bash plates. We avoid designing skid plates that are shaped like boxes, have sharp edges and corners and will guaranteed to restrict your rides off road. Ours are more, per se, aerodynamic and will glide over and gently bounce off any object on your favorite trails.
- 4mm thick laser cut aluminum – Nothing is ever an overkill on an adventure bike, hence we choose to build our bash plates from this ridiculously tough and thick, yet lightweight material.
- Tough mounting hardware – No cutting corners here (either)! Precision laser cut pieces for perfect fitment using 5mm thick metal mounts. These parts absorb a lot of impacts from riding through (off-road) hell, rather than your bikes chassis or engine that are worth thousands of dollars.
- Sandblasted to achieve the best possible adhesion of the coatings – it’s an extremely vital part of our manufacturing process. Sandblasted surfaces will withstand most surface scratches and give you a longer-lasting product.
- Powder coated – combined with sandblasting it’s a killer combination to protect your product’s surface. No frills and tough just like your ADV/Dual Sport bike!

I love my setup! Installation was smooth, but we did reverse the order of installation of the bolts on the skid plate, we found putting rear bolts in first worked better, and not tightening them until all was in.
Love the look, very heavy duty, would definitely buy again! Thank you for the well-made products!

Just back from a few days on the MABDR Southern Sections. Tons to rocks thrown at the skid plate from the front tire, very musical, no damage. One pretty big hit on the skid place after a big rain rut. It jarred my bones, but the skid plate is not bent, looks perfect!

That sounds awesome! Glad your investment has already paid off.

Transaction was easy, shipping quick, fit to the VStrom with no issues. No changes in vibes or handling. Wish skidplate was a bit closer fitting to the cases, but gives excellent protection at the cost of a bit of ground clearance. Overall, GREAT kit.

High quality protection. Luckily I have not need the protection yet. Still looks good on bike. Easy to install everything bolted right up. Shipping was fast too.

Pros:
Parts are built solid, and were nicely powder coated. I chose the silver because my bike is Suzuki silver, but this silver looks white next to the paint. Not a big deal for me, I think it adds a nice accent, but you should be aware.
Instructions were clear and easy to follow.
Installation was easy, AFTER… I removed the frame bolts on my bike. My frame bolts were stuck good. But that has nothing to do with this kit. Just be aware that you may need copious amounts of penetrating oil and a breaker bar.
Mounts directly to the frame, creating a very solid system.
Cons:
Torx head bolts. They expected me to bolt this up with Torx head bolts, I hate Torx head bolts, so bias opinion incoming. I did give the bolts a try at first, and almost immediately stripped out the head on two of the provided bolts even before I got to the tightening stage. Luckily I was able to remove them with a pair of vise grips. Do your self a favor, go down to the store and buy some hardened hex head bolts of the same thread and size. I would also advise using some anti-seize compound on threads and save yourself some future frustration.
Conclusion:
I would buy this kit again without hesitation, and I would recommend this kit to anyone. I’ve even given this kit a unintended field test. My VStrom got bumped and fell over in my garage. Once I righted the bike, I couldn’t even find a scratch on the powder coat. System protected all the fairing and signal lights on my bike beautifully. Hopefully that is the first, worst and last time that will ever happen to my bike. For a real report on the effectiveness of this kit though, you will need to go elsewhere, hopefully I will never find out this kits true effectiveness.
Cheers.

Hi Wayne. Thanks for your detailed review. On the topic of the torx bolts, it’s actually combined with hex head, thus you have two options here. Either use torx tool or hex tool.
