Just received my Outback Motortek Center Stand for my Africa Twin Adventure Sports yesterday. Quality is excellent as you would expect from Outback Motortek. Installation was for the most part very straight forward.
The only thing I would suggest is to invest in a quality spring puller if you don’t already own one, rather than trying to use pliers as suggested in the instructions. I picked up a Motion Pro Heavy Duty Spring Puller. Invest in one of these or similar, because pulling springs with pliers sucks 🙂

This things beats the hell out of using the wimpy factory side stand. I’m not sure how it compares to the Honda center stand, but I have zero complaints about this. Just make sure you have a spring puller to get the springs on.

Bought it and like it but I also bought an alt rider center stand skid plate which doesn’t fit your center stand. I am thinking about taking your center stand off and buying a altrider center stand because it dosent fit yours, please make a center stand skid plate that fits yours or loose more business I have talked to many that didn’t buy your center stand for this reason

Thanks for your review. You do know that Altrider doesn’t make Africa Twin 1000 centre stands, right? Their centre stand skid plate is for the OEM Honda centre stand only.

Beefy as all hell! The Stand was pretty easy to install (those springs were a real PITA), is very strong, and functions nearly flawlessly. I only say “nearly” because I got a little air on the Africa Twin and the “KA-CLUNK!” of the stand swinging-down then coming back up when I landed scared all hell out of me!
